Week Two - What type of books do you enjoy reading? Do you like funny books? Science Fiction? Scary stories? Adventure? Sad stories? Do you have a favourite book at the moment? Do you prefer to read stories where the main character is your age? Male? Female?
WEEK 2:I like reading books that catch my mind and i get really stuck into. I also like secretive books, funny books and adventure. My favourite book at the moment would probually be Someone Like Me. I really enjoyed that book because every chapter there was another surprise. I prefer reading books when the
main charachter isnt my age because they it gives me a challenge to try and think in the way that age would think. I like reading books with females. I like reading books that take a few weeks to read. I dont like reading books about science. I also like reading books with mixed emotions.
At the moment I am reading Hatchet and love it and would recommend it to anyone over 10. It is about a young boy whoes pilot had a heart attack on the plane and they plane lost control into the Canadian Wilderness. He doesnt have and food, water or shelter. The only thing he has is his hopes.
ALEX
Your most disliked character in a book and why.
Great writing Alex. You have explained your reasoning very well. Mrs G
What has been your most favourite Justin D'Ath extreme adventure book and why Even though I have not read a Justin D'Ath extreme book yet I am going to but I am reading a book called ''Saving Abbie''. It is a very good book about a boy called Ian who was on a ship with an arugutan during a cyclone. After they escaped Ian took him back to his family. This arungutan is no ordinary arungutan he is amazingly smart and very cheeky. They end up getting into another big mess.It is very funny and addictive.
Emily
That sounds like a very fun book to read and funnily enough I havnt read an extreeme adventure book either.
But one of the books I have read is "The Really Nearly Deadly Canoe Ride". Its a really fun book if you want a quick and easy read. The book is about two boys
(I thnk they are boys..) that get given a canoe that was about to be chucked out by the neighburs and they fix it up and bit so they can keep it and use it because is is extreemly old but a famous person used it so it is very special.
They decide that if they fix it up a bit they can impress the two prettiest girls (their crushes) by travveling all around the worl with this canoe. Lets just remember that these boys are young. They go through some challenges on the way and they dont get quite as far as around the world. They live in a little town so where they live it isnt as easy as going to the harbour and start their route the closest thing they have to that is a middy river.
Alex I haven't read that serise yet but I cant wait. They look so adventhers. But i read a pop up volcano book it was very clever.i loved it i would tell every body about it. It was so great. My favirot page was a big big big pop out volcano.I wish to read that fun adventer books soon. Can't wait.

Wow Ari thats sound like an interesting book it sound fun too. I would really like to borrow that book but do you know the author and what the name is? Is that book a book where it has lots of origami and when you turn a page it opens up? I always wonder how people make that sort of thing.
One of the books I have read is Devil Danger by Justin D'Ath its a really fun book and you cant put it down for a second. I think you would really enjoy it Ari and you should borrow it next week. It has lots of wierd and wacky things like babies falling out of the sky and kidnappers and princes. Quite funny actually.
AlexI have just made a video in ANIMOTO. I made the video about the book I have been reading in reading groups this term. The book is called "When You Reach Me". In the video it shows a bit about what happens in the book. It had mysterious notes from a stranger that appeared if very weird places. Mirandais also very intrested in the theory of time. She has been reading a book called "A Wrinkle In Time". It is a book based on time and travelling through time.I have also finished reading the book we were meant to read over this term for Library. It is probulally one of the best book I have ever read in my life. The book is called, "The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane", By Kate DiCamillo. It is about a china rabbit who kept getting thrown out by his owners. He goes on a weird and wacky but learning to love journey from places like a dumpster to homeless people and from homeless people to a shop and from then more places. He learns how to love and how to appriciate how much people love him. He learnt most of this when he was found by a boy who toom the rabbit to his sister. His sister was very sick and dying of something that sounded like whooping cough. I would reccommend this book to girl and boys ages 10-14. It is a great book with many lessons.Alex
